When I checked the Diver mailbag today, I was pleasantly surprised to find some private correspondence from a few long time tipsters who keep the Diver knee-deep in political mud. In addition, I got an email from a crazy lady who is suing the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitative Services, and she asked me [...]
Just couldn’t resist slamming the sheer idiocy of Dan Lara, spokesman for Congressman Jerry Moran, who argued to the National Journal this week that Jerry Moran’s wide margin’s of victory in the Big First is an indication that he’s a bold, visionary leader.
Come on, dude. Seriously? Here’s the actual quote from Lara:
“Jerry Moran is far [...]
Apologies for the temporary hiatus over the past few days – the Diver was busy running down leads for several new blockbuster stories, including, but not limited to a tip that Sam Brownback has agreed to donate 100% of his campaign contributions to Haiti because he doesn’t need them.
In other news, Todd Tiahrt continues to [...]
Update: The Moran campaign responded vigorously to the Diver via email today – apparently the hardworking staffers at Moran for Senate don’t see the humor in the photo to the left. Here’s the verbatim response from a Moran spokeswoman:
Ironically, Todd Tiahrt is a co-sponsor and supporter of the DREAM Act, which explicitly provided benefits such [...]
Staffers for Jerry Moran were scrambling last night to come up with a response to the Tiahrt campaign’s opening TV barrage that sought to contrast Todd Tiahrt’s devilish good looks and manly countenance against the balding and feeble body of Jerry Moran. To avoid losing viewers who might avert their eyes when exposed to imagery [...]
So by now you’ve all read the morning papers and seen the news that the lousy Democrats are clinging for as long as possible to the ethics probe of Todd Tiahrt’s work on the House appropriations committee.
Jerry Moran, big sissy that he is, remained silent on the issue. Why? The Diver can only guess. But [...]
Topeka, KS – Governor Kathleen Sebelius was forced to issue a statement today after a single reporter accidentally misdialed her press secretary while trying to order take out from Shanghai Palace on 8th Street. The startled reporter had just read something on the internet about Sebelius being a potential Obama nominee for some position or [...]
Dirt Diver was very busy tonight toying with a new tool on loan from the CIA called the XPS-3000, an experimental photo scanner which can zoom in, enhance, and unwarp background objects.
It’s very handy for rooting around in all sorts of places people don’t expect.
Tonight, the Diver pointed this powerful technology at the desk of [...]
A well-known GOP operative in Wichita reports that Congressman Todd Tiahrt is closely watching the moves of Governor Kathleen Sebelius. The insider reports that Tiahrt is confident he could win a head-to-head primary against fellow Congressman Jerry Moran, but that Tiahrt is less confident of his chances against Kathleen Sebelius in the general election.
The source [...]
A bit of gamesmanship in Kansas politics today, as Congressman Jerry Moran released a poll showing that he leads Todd Tiahrt in a head to head primary to replace Senator Sam Brownback. The Washington Post has the story (don’t bother going to Roll Call), here’s what they said:
Senate Race Scuttlebutt: Rep. Jerry Moran starts as [...]
